Morse code translator
Convert text to International Morse code—or decode dots and dashes back to text, instantly and privately in your browser.
How to use it
Translate without guessing the spaces
In Text → Morse mode, type letters, numbers, common punctuation or complete sentences. Each Morse character is separated by one space, while a slash separates words. Choose a playback speed and select “Play Morse” to hear the timed signal.
In Morse → Text mode, separate each character with a single space. Separate words with a slash or at least two spaces. For example, ... --- ... decodes to SOS and .... .. / - .... . .-. . decodes to HI THERE.
Supported Morse code characters
The translator supports the 26 Latin letters A–Z, numbers 0–9 and common International Morse punctuation. Unsupported source characters are flagged and omitted during encoding. An unknown Morse sequence is shown as the replacement character so you can spot and fix the pattern.
Morse timing used for playback
Playback follows the standard 1:3 dot-to-dash ratio. A one-unit silence separates marks inside a character, three units separate characters, and seven units separate words. The WPM selector changes the base unit while preserving those ratios.
